python-parallel software package provides pyparallel - module encapsulating access for the parallel port, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-parallel
python-parallel is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-parallel package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-parallel *
You will get with python-parallel package name, version, architecture and description in a table
